on Glass Breakage and Seal Failure Warranty
**Films specifically designed for use on exterior
glass surfaces (outside applications).
Most applications of SUN-GARD films
are automatically covered for glass breakage in accordance
with the above schedule. However, certain darker films
and certain types of glass do not qualify for coverage
unless written approval has been obtained in advance
of installation from the manufacturer, seal failure
coverage is limited to the duration of the window
manufacturer’s seal failure coverage. Restricted
film and glass combinations that require pre-approval
are listed on the SUN-GARD Film-to-Glass Compatibility
sheet.
Other Restricted Applications (Prior
Approval Required):
Double-pane windows larger than 40 square feet
Single-pane windows larger than 100 square feet
Glass thicknesses over 1/4 inch
Architectural shading from exterior overhangs, extensions,
columns, etc.
Reflective glass
Rigid window framing systems of concrete, solid aluminum,
or solid steel
Windows where the glazing compound or sealant has
hardened
Buildings with previous glass breakage history
Architecturally odd-shaped windows
Windows with a damaged frame
Laminated glass in single-pane or double-pane windows
Any job over 5000 square feet
Skylights
Automotive film applied to flatglass
No Job Approval Application Will
be Accepted for These Applications:
Triple-pane glass or double-pane glass with suspended
films
Partial application of film to glass
Application of 2 or more films with different VLTs
to the same piece of glass
Glass that is visibly chipped, cracked, or otherwise
damaged
Wired, textured or patterned glass
